250msq education center. The requirement was for an outstanding design that would reflect the inherent values of the organization and act as an integral part of it’s identity. The design features a circular main hall with offices, commercial teaching kitchen, and washrooms radiating outwards. The building was specified for lowest environmental impact, as well as being highly thermally efficient, the build technique allowed for minimal use of poured concrete.

Conversion of a listed period industrial warehouse to 2 luxury apartments.
This award winning conversion in the center of the Chichester conservation area took the essence of the original C19th warehouse and provided two outstanding modern homes. Each apartment benefits from generous living spaces combined with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms and includes many of the buildings original features.

220msq highly specified holiday home in the Luberon Valley. Constructed from a C16th ruined barn this house is substantially new build with principle masonry restored and retained. The development features a newly constructed kitchen and utility unit and large ground floor salon opening onto terraces and a pool, with two well appointed suites at first floor level.

250msq of holiday accommodation in two linked units. Situated in the grounds of a fine Grade II listed house the requirement was to provide high quality accommodation in a low impact sympathetic development. The development originated with a 1960s garden room which was stripped out and substantially extended, this is linked by way of a shared covered space to a newly constructed two storey “Studio”. The design features traditional and contemporary construction details using timber felled from the grounds.

120msq 1970’s chalet bungalow converted to a 240msq traditional Surrey home. The development originated with a poorly built dwelling which was substantially demolished to allow for a traditionally constructed generous five bedroom family home. The design features an open plan dining/ living space which opens on two sides to a terrace and gardens. Concealed rooflights introduce daylight from unexpected angles.

80msq village house extended and reconstructed to provide a 160msq individual home with expansive views over the Malvern Hills. The development originated with a modest village cottage which had itself been much altered over the last 150 years. The new parts were designed with significant areas of glazing to maximize the light and views. More recent works include the creation of a vaulted workroom/studio from part of the house which had originally been an adjoined barn.

30msq existing extension to a C16th Grade II sympathetically refurbished as a kitchen. New openings were formed to create better access to terraces. A new traditionally trussed roof structure gives the space a substantial feel whilst being a harmonious addition to the host building. Other works include redesigned bathroom, garden ironworks and refurbished outhouses.

90msq cottage extended and reconstructed to provide a well specified family home. The greater part of the existing building was of very poor construction resulting in the finished house being mainly new build.The sloping site suggested the inclusion of a sub basement with direct access to the garden and access to the house via a spiral staircase. The roof of the lower level provides an ample terrace accessed from the main living space.

150msq C16th Grade II village house extended to 300msq by conversion of a C16th/C17th barn and joining to house. The original dwelling occupies a significant location within a conservation area as a result the planning and listed building consent process was particularly arduous. The permitted design involved the renovation and extension of the barn and a glazed link between the barn and the house. The completed project included a large dining/living room with 20msq mezzanine over part, kitchen, larder, additional W/C and utility room.

250msq Arts and Crafts house extended to 300msq, swimming pool complex and conversion of outhouses to home office and guest accommodation. Works to house involved a 20msq conventional extension and rearrangement of staircase, a 30msq green oak framed garden room, alterations to bedrooms and the design and installation of a media and entertainment room. The swimming pool complex involved designing the pool and associated buildings to work within a 1920s garden originally laid out by Gertrude Jekyll. The conversion and extension of the outbuildings was undertaken to reflect the high quality of the previous projects.
